Mpongo is the Buffalo City game-reserve option - a 3,500-hectare malaria-free reserve on the N6, forty-five minutes from East London Airport, run by Premier Hotels with a properly established conference operation: six named venues (Mvubu to 100), two lapa bomas and multiple lodges. It's not Big-5 (no cats), so it's a bush-and-conference resort rather than a safari trophy, but for an EL-side brief that wants game drives and a real conference set-up close to the city, it's the answer. B&W books it for mid-size Buffalo City conferences and team-building where the bush is a short drive, not a two-hour haul.
