B&W Productions builds the stands, stages, hospitality suites and brand activations behind South Africa’s biggest events. Tell us which ones are on your calendar and we’ll send a scoped proposal.
Compiled by B&W Productions · Dates marked check dates follow annual patterns — always confirm with the organiser before booking travel.
The seven months from August 2026 to February 2027 carry the densest concentration of brand-relevant events in the South African calendar. Spring opens with the trade show block — Electra Mining Africa, Africa Aerospace & Defence and the Festival of Motoring all land inside a three-week window in Gauteng. From October the centre of gravity shifts to the Cape, where Loeries Creative Week, African Energy Week and Africa Tech Festival pull international delegations into the CTICC, and the festival season builds towards a December peak.
For marketers the planning logic is simple: exhibition-led events reward lead time and a well-built stand, while festivals and sport reward presence, hospitality and a reason for people to stop walking. The two need different budgets and different production partners — and the events with the highest hospitality yield on this calendar are rarely the ones with the biggest ticket sales.
Exhibition stands at the major shows should be briefed 10 to 14 weeks out; anything custom-built or double-decked needs longer for structural sign-off with the venue. Festival activations and hospitality builds run on shorter cycles but compete for the same crew, trucks and rigging stock in November and December, which is the busiest production window of the South African year. If your event falls between 15 November and 20 December, lock your supplier early.
Use the event budget calculator to scope spend, the venue finder to build a side-event or hospitality programme around a show, and the compliance checker to work through SASREA, permit and safety requirements for anything you host yourself.
