Rio is Klerksdorp's big-event default: a carnival-themed casino resort under an enormous thatched roof at the N12, with a theatre, a spread of function rooms, an outdoor tent platform and a tidy 70-room Metcourt attached. Peermont still runs it — the Sun International takeover collapsed in July 2025 — and the operation reads as stable and current. The catch for B&W is accommodation depth: 70 rooms means overflow hotels for anything conference-sized, and published capacity numbers are thin, so work off the banqueting pack, not the website.
