The Cape Sun is the CBD's volume workhorse: a 625 m2 VOC Centre seating 650 cinema or 440 banquet, divisible plenary, nine venues and 368 rooms stacked on top - the full residential-conference machine on Strand Street. The Southern Sun playbook means competent catering, predictable service and rates well under the Waterfront names. The building shows its age in places and reviewers say so, which is why we dress the VOC Centre properly rather than relying on the room. For association conferences and multi-day corporates on real budgets, it delivers every time.
